Hello Beautiful Ones, did you know that there is a day for just about everything and today is Vitamin C Day and I have been wanting to try out some new skincare, so that is what I am talking about today.
Vitamin C boosts your skin’s collagen production as well as prevents the breakdown of existing collagen. It gives you firmer, plumper skin and fights fine lines and wrinkles. It is an antioxidant and helps fight free radicals and sun damage to your skin. I have some red spot/scars from my acne days and this is supposed to help reduce that redness.
I have not tried any skincare with vitamin c yet, I did find a list on the allure website, but I wanted to hear what people actually liked about how the products that they used and what worked or didn’t work so I searched the Sephora website to find a few the highest rated products available.
What I like most about Sephora is they are more than happy to give you samples of most products they carry in the store, so if you see something that you want to try out, just ask them! They also have a great return policy so if you do make a purchase and find your product isn’t working for you, you can return it. Which makes me much more comfortable buying a higher priced item. Also worth noting, Ulta has a good return policy too.
The first one I found is Farsali Unicorn Essence Antioxidant Primer Serum I have only heard good things about all of the Farsali products, other than it can get a bit pricey. This product has multiple uses, which helps with the higher price point and it can be used both in the morning and at night. With over 130K loves this has to be tried! The suggested usage on how to use this serum from the Sephora website is:
Daily Serum:
-Apply a few drops to palm of hands and gently press onto face and neck.
-For best results, use morning and evening.
-Tip: Follow up with FARSÁLI’s Rose Gold Elixir to moisturize.
Makeup primer:
-Use it as an effective primer before applying your makeup/foundation.
-Start your makeup routine by applying two to three drops on your face and pat it in.
-This magical formula not only gives you a smooth application, but it makes your foundation last much longer.
-Use it under your eyes to prevent your concealer from creasing.
Eyeshadow primer:
-Apply a small amount to your lid, as an eyeshadow primer. (This will prevent your eyeshadow from creasing, make it last all day, and it will also enhance the pigment in the shadows).
The second product is OLEHENRIKSEN Truth Serum another brand I have not tried but after reading the reviews (this has over 160K loves!) this has moved to my number one serum to try first! The suggested usage is:
-Apply evenly to face and neck daily, taking time to enjoy the uplifting citrus scent and silky texture.
-After fully absorbed, follow with the Ole Henriksen moisturizer of your choice.
The last but definitely not least is the TATCHA Violet-C Brightening Serum this serum has over 40K loves and the suggested usage is:
-Use in the evening.
-Ideally apply Tatcha’s Essence first on clean skin to amplify the results of the Violet C Brightening Serum.
-Dispense one to two pumps and gently massage onto skin.
-Use SPF daily to maintain results and to help protect skin from future damage.
They carry all of these items in store at Sephora so I will be getting samples to try and then post an update on how they worked for me and my normal to dry skin.
You can also help your skin and body from the inside out by eating your vitamin c or taking supplements which can be combined with your skincare for double the goodness! The recommended daily intake of vitamin C for healthy women is 75 mg per day. For adults, the tolerable upper intake level — the highest daily intake likely to pose no risks — is 2,000 mg per day.
Have you tried Vitamin C serums before? How did they work for you? What did you like about them? Let me know in the comments.
