L’Oreal Age Perfect Rosy Tone Cell Renewal Day and Cool Night Moisturizer Review
Over the last year and specifically the last seven months (quarantine), I have noticed that my skin was looking dull and dry. I haven’t been wearing makeup or moisturizing as regularly as I used to. I have tried several different moisturizers with not much improvement but I am hoping by using L’Oreal Age Perfect for 30 days that I will see results.
The above pictures are from before I started using the moisturizers.
Day 1 Morning
Has a nice fragrance that doesn’t linger. This cream has a slightly firmer texture than lotion but still goes on smooth with minimal effort. It dries down quickly and is not tacky or greasy.
Day 1 Night
This cream does not have a fragrance. It has a smooth creamy texture. It is slightly tacky for the first couple of minutes, but then it melts right in. My skin feels softer after just one application.
I had no pilling from the night cream and as I mentioned, my skin did feel softer. I applied the morning moisturizer cream with no problems. My skin tone is very light so I wasn’t sure if the color from the day cream would look good or if it would be splotchy. I’m happy to report it adds just an even touch of color that is more like a soft glow.
This morning there were some small pimples all over my face.
Most pimples are gone and noticing less texture.
You can really see how much these moisturizers have helped with the texture on my face and this is with foundation, concealer, and powder. Look at what was lurking under the makeup!
This is what was under that full face of makeup. Pimples again! Ugh! The redness went down by morning.
I had not been wearing a full face of makeup since I started using these moisturizers. The most positive thing about wearing face masks, for me, is that you don’t have to worry about wearing a full face of makeup. Today I had errands to run so I decided to see how the moisturizer performed as a primer under a full face of makeup. The only issue I had was at the end of the night when I removed my makeup I had developed several acne spots again. I’m sure most of them were from wearing the face mask since I have broken out several times wearing the face mask with no makeup or moisturizer. This time though they were more likely from the layers of products, moisturizer, foundation, concealer, and powder that I was wearing along with the face mask.
I started this review with extra dry skin in my t-zone area. My t-zone dryness and textured skin is significantly better now and my normal skin is much softer. I will definitely continue using both moisturizers for a long time. The cooling night moisturizer worked better than anything I’ve tried. I will continue testing the day moisturizer with different foundations and face masks to find a combo that won’t break me out. I like the night cream enough that I might even splurge on a mini-fridge to hold my skincare. My face gets flushed in the evening and this night cream feels wonderful and soothing when applied. I can feel the difference in texture and dryness more than I can see it. Having only used these products for 30 days and neglected my skin for years, I am very happy with the results.
After about the third day I didn’t even notice the fragrance when opening the jar.
It gives your face a nice light touch of color/glow.
My skin felt softer and silkier after the first day and it only got softer as the month went on. Even on my hydrated skin, I could feel a difference.
Tip: After applying the moisturizer let it sit and melt into your skin for about two to three minutes before applying other products.
**Update–I found they have a fragrance free version & I have linked it above!**
