Hello again beauties!
Thanks for joining me again today for the final day of a five part series on local coffee and roasting companies in the Pierce County, Washington area. I have been on a mission recently to find independent coffee shops to help support the small businesses in the area.
Check out day four here. I am hoping you will find inspiration to start looking for hidden gems in your area.
Today’s local coffee shop is Urban Timber Coffee. This is a one shop coffee store. They use beans roasted by my favorite coffee roasting company, Dillano’s. It’s my favorite because it is located in my hometown and is owned by someone from my high school. It’s a bonus that the coffee is delicious. (Dillon’s coffee blend is my favorite roast). The store screams northwest with exposed metal beams and lots of wood, they even have a 6 foot wooden Space Needle. There is plenty of space to visit with friends, tables to spread out and get some work done or comfy couches and chairs to just relax and read a book.
I decided to try a couple of flavored lattes on this trip, the first one was a white chocolate pumpkin mocha and the other was a candy corn latte. Seeing as I haven’t found too many things in my life that are too sweet I tried the candy corn first. It was okay, not sure what I was expecting but it didn’t wow me. It wasn’t bad, I drank the whole thing but I was thinking it would taste like the candy and it didn’t quite make it. Now the pumpkin white mocha was fabulous! It was just the right amount of sweetness and neither flavor overpowered the other. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
Urban Timber has a small menu and also serves local beer, wine and hard cider. They have an open mic night on the weekends along with live music. I can’t believe I have not been here before as it is less than ten minutes from where I live and shop. I think that I have found a new hangout place!
